About EduIsland IIAlliance Library System, Girobatol.com and Squirrelverse are partnering to extend the range of services and educational programs currently offered online to librarians and library users to the Second Life virtual reality environment. EduIsland II is an adult education training center located in the online virtual reality world 'Second Life'. Its purpose is to provide free and premium-content services and practical skills classes to the users ('Residents') of that world and rental accommodation to education and librarianship professionals. The primary goal of EduIsland II is to be the undisputed leader in learning services in Second Life. This goal will be achieved and permanently sustained by an excellent management team with decades of experience that is supported by expert subject teachers, partner organizations and the residents of Second Life, who are the Island's most valuable resource. About Second LifeSecond Life is a 3D virtual world that is almost entirely built by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by nearly over 3 million people from around the globe. There are shopping malls, events, homes, lands of different types, and best of all, participants can contribute content, buildings and other digital creations. |
